Common cross-border logistics transportation methods include air freight, sea freight, and international express delivery.
Sellers need to choose the most suitable shipping method based on the attributes of their products.
Cross border logistics
1. Air freight
Refers to a mode of transportation that uses airplanes as a means of transportation for cross-border transportation of goods.
2. Sea freight
Sea freight transportation is a method of transporting goods between ports in different countries and regions using ships through sea routes, including full container load (FCL) and less than container load (LCL) shipping.
3. Ocean freight full container load
Ocean freight full container load (FCL), also known as FCL. Refers to a shipment where there is only one shipper responsible for packing, counting, stacking, and sealing the entire box of goods. The common sizes of internationally standardized containers are 20GP, 40GP, 40HQ, and 45HQ.
International Freight Forwarding
4. Ocean freight consolidation
Less Container Load (LCL), also known as sea freight consolidation. The goods consigned by the shipper are small bills of lading that are less than a full box. The goods are sorted and organized by an agent (or carrier), and the goods sent to the same destination are consolidated into a certain number of boxes.
Attention: How to choose between FCL or LCL?
It depends on the volume of the goods to be shipped. The minimum container size for sea freight standard containers is 20 feet. If the volume of the consigned goods is less than 20m ³, it is recommended to use LCL transportation; If it is greater than 20m ³, use full container transportation.
5. International Business Express
International commercial express delivery refers to express delivery and international logistics services conducted between two or more countries (or regions). After international parcels arrive in the destination country, they need to be delivered to the final destination country for delivery.
