The difference between domestic logistics and cross-border Logistics

Cross border logistics is also called international logistics. The broad international logistics refers to the inflow and outflow of various forms of materials between countries. International Logistics in a narrow sense refers to the logistics activities related to a country's import and export trade.

In essence, international logistics is a kind of "circulation of goods" that transcends national boundaries and expands the scope of circulation. It is a kind of logistics that transcends national boundaries. However, although international logistics has certain domestic logistics attributes, due to its special circulation, there are still many differences between international logistics and domestic logistics, mainly in the following aspects:

1、 The logistics environment is very different.

International logistics is oriented to all countries and regions in the world; And domestic logistics is only the internal logistics of domestic logistics activities. Compared with this, the international logistics environment is more complex, extensive and international.

Domestic logistics can be completed only with simple documents and invoices, but international logistics formalities are complicated, and various customs declaration documents such as customs declaration form, origin document and product inspection are required. In terms of the types of products to be transported, international logistics also has strict requirements. For example, liquid, powder and other commodities require a large number of certification and examination documents, and will become the focus of the customs.

2、 Complexity.

Although most countries use English as the common commercial language, international logistics needs to use logistics documents in multiple languages in the process of transportation, especially for the transportation of products through multiple countries. Although most countries use English as the common commercial language, some countries require to provide documents and customs declarations in local languages, which adds difficulties to international logistics operations.

In addition, domestic logistics warehouses are basically shared by the picking area and the storage area, which are generally flat warehouses. International logistics needs to designate storage areas to improve the storage rate and special storage areas to improve the picking efficiency. The domestic logistics transportation time is also relatively short, and the international logistics takes longer than the domestic transportation time due to the long distance to foreign countries.

Only one logistics label can be attached to domestic goods, but it is not allowed to attach one logistics label code internationally. There are other requirements, such as export reference number, contact information, importer information, tariff information, etc.

3、 Different modes of transportation.

At present, domestic logistics is basically completed by land transportation, while international logistics requires multiple cooperation modes such as air transportation, sea transportation and land transportation. Basically, it has to undergo more than two times of transportation, such as air transportation from China to Thailand, and then land transportation from Thailand to consumers.

The domestic transportation is relatively stable. Most of the international transportation is carried abroad by sea and air. If there is an accident on the way, the economic loss will be relatively large.

4、 Information exchange mode.

If you want to track the transportation route of domestic goods, just enter the express number or call the official directly for inquiry; When the goods are sent abroad, you may need to wait more than two days to see the transportation of the goods. Even if you query through the official website, you can only see which port in which country the goods arrive, and the specific location cannot be seen.

The sender within a country can be contacted by telephone, wechat and other means; The international sender and the addressee basically communicate by mail, and time difference should also be considered.

5、 Geographical distribution.

China's logistics is distributed all over the country, with wide distribution and wide service range; While international logistics is mainly distributed in the eastern coastal areas, the air and sea transport infrastructure in the eastern coastal areas is relatively complete, and the distribution in the central and western regions is less.

6、 Degree of standardization.

The logistics industry has very high requirements for the standardization of international logistics, especially for liquid, powder, health products, food, animal fur and other products, which cannot be transported to China without national certification. The requirements of domestic standardization are not so high. As long as you have a formal certificate from the industrial and commercial bureau, you can basically deliver goods.
