LCL, as the name implies, is to assemble the goods of different owners into one container, also known as bulk cargo. Generally, when the consignor's consigned quantity is small enough to fill the full container, there will be a freight agent to carry out LCL combination. The classification, sorting, concentration, packing (unpacking), delivery and other work of LCL goods are carried out at the container freight station of the carrier's terminal or the Inland container transfer station.
Generally, LCL cargo cannot be accepted by the specified shipping company. The shipping company only accepts full container cargo instead of directly accepting LCL cargo. Only through freight forwarders (some powerful shipping companies through logistics companies) can LCL cargo arrive at the shipping company. Almost all LCL cargo is transported through centralized shipping and centralized distribution by freight forwarders. The distribution port of East China LCL is basically Shanghai port. Due to the limitation of the supply of goods, the general freight forwarders can only concentrate on a few shipping companies and rarely meet the needs of the designated shipping companies. Therefore, when trading LCL cargo, the designated shipping company shall not be accepted as far as possible, so as not to meet the requirements during shipment.
The billing ton of LCL shall be accurate. Before delivery, the factory shall measure the weight and size of the goods as accurately as possible. When the goods are delivered to the warehouse designated by the freight forwarder for storage, the warehouse will generally re measure, and the re measured size and weight will be the charging standard. If the factory changes the packaging, the factory shall be required to notify in time. Don't wait until the goods are delivered to the freight forwarder's warehouse, and feedback the information through the freight forwarder. Time is often very tight, and it is easy to delay customs declaration or generate emergency customs declaration fee and port flushing fee by changing customs declaration documents.
Due to the shortage of LCL supply and high cost, freight forwarders specialized in LCL in some ports adopt a charging standard for goods with a small quantity of goods. If the charge is 2 tons, i.e. less than 2 tons, the charge is 2 tons. Therefore, for the goods with small quantity of goods and large port deviation, more of these factors should be considered in the transaction to avoid being passive in the future.
For some remote routes and ports, the customer proposes to deliver the goods to inland locations. Before signing the contract, the customer shall consult and confirm that shipping companies and freight forwarders can undertake these remote ports. The contract shall be signed after the delivery and relevant expenses at the inland place.
